JABIDAH MEMORIAL

Jabidah Memorial Facade

The Jabidah Memorial sits on roadside approach to Kindley Field. It was created in memory of dozens of commandos who were killed in 1968, while training on the island for a top-secret operation. The case was highly controversial, and still remains unsolved to this very day. You can learn more about this operation by going online. Use the search terms "Jabidah" and "Operation Merdeka"

Jabidah Memorial gazebo

This small, gazebo-like platform is part of the Jabidah Memorial and is located just beside the main structure. Behind the platform is an aluminum fence to keep people away from the edge of a cliff. Definitely a good idea, as this is another great place to take photos of the island's tail.
