Rusty rails crisscross what is left of the old Lorcha Dock. The old railway system not only brought people around the island, but also allowed the quick and efficient transport of ordnance and war materials directly from the dock to Malinta Tunnel and other Batteries. This is the dock where Gen. MacArthur shoved off from as he and other members of the Philippine government headed for Mindanao, and then Australia. This picturesque dock used to be a favorite among tourists, but it has since been rebuilt, thus greatly diminishing its sightseeing value.
