The ruins of MacArthur's old headquarters make for a dramatic foreground in this photograph showing its location relative to the rest of Mile Long Barracks. Formerly a part of the western end of Mile Long Barracks, these ruins give us a good idea of how much firepower was used to reduce this portion of the building to rubble. This is one of two sections of the Barracks that was severely damaged. This, and many other structural ruins characterize the fiery legacy of Corregidor Island.
